If you want to learn a second language and Japanese is your language of choice then you’ll want to learn how to write Japanese as well.  Being able to write a language is part of the overall language so you should not overlook it.  If you know how to speak the words and hear the words, that’s great.  But if you ever went to Japan, you would find that you’re speaking and listening abilities are not going to help you read some of the valuable information such as street signs or food menus.

Using a program such as Nihongo, will quickly teach you how to speak, understand, and a write the Japanese language.  If you are planning a trip to Japan, these skills are going to be crucial because you do not want to spend your entire visit asking people what the signs mean.

Learning how to write Japanese words and phrases as well as understanding them is crucial if you ever want to visit Japan.  However, many people who decide to learn Japanese never learn how to read or write it.  This is mostly because it seems incredibly difficult to do.  Although it is a difficult language to read and write, learning it will benefit you greatly.

When you learn how to write Japanese, you can take confidence and the fact that when you do visit that country, you will be independent and not have to rely on local people to get around or to order food.  You can also avoid the common mistake of ordering something off a food menu that ends up being something completely different than you thought it was.  Written language is a great thing and is one of the many forms of communication we have.
